I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Senseable City Lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA, where I work on urban mobility analysis and spatio-temporal data mining for smart-city applications. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Grab-NUS AI Lab, Institute of Data Science, National University of Singapore (NUS), where I worked on transportation related problems with particular emphasis on driver behavior analysis, driver profiling for taxi allocation, and location modelling. I received the M.Tech. Degree in Instrumentation Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 2011 and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Melbourne, Australia in 2019. From July 2011 to November 2014, I was a Researcher in Automation Division, TATA Steel Limited, India where I developed several image processing and machine learning based real-time systems for manufacturing industries.
My current research interests are: big data cluster analysis, anomaly detection, urban data analytics, intelligent transportation, spatio-temporal data mining, and Internet of Things.
I am passionate about developing algorithms to extract useful information from variety of data (time-series, GPS logs, spatio-temporal, images, texts) that may be anomalous, high-dimensional, noisy, unstructured, streaming and heterogeneous. I am particularly interested in ML and AI applications to solve complex real-world problems in areas such as transportation, agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure, robotics, and vision.

[May '20] My PhD thesis got nominated for "Chancellor's Prize for Excellence in the PhD Thesis 2020", at the University of Melbourne.
[April'20] Our work on "Missing Data Imputation with Bayesian Maximum Entropy for Internet of Things" has been accepted in IEEE Internet of Things Journal.
[March'20] Our work on "Visual Structure Assessment and Anomaly Detection for High-Velocity Data Streams" has been accepted in IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics.
[Nov'19] Received the Outstanding Ph.D Thesis Work Grant in Cybernetics from IEEE System, Man, and Cybernetics Society, 2019.
